Dr Georgina Paizis
Dr Georgina Paizis graduated from Melbourne University in 1990 with honours. She spent her undergraduate and post graduate career at the Austin Hospital and was admitted to the Royal Australian College of Physician in 1998.
She undertook subsequent studies in the area of the mechanisms of liver cirrhosis and was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2004.
From 2002 to 2004 Georgina served her Clinical Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Georgina holds the position of Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Austin Hospital, providing services in Liver and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinics as well as endoscopy and inpatient care.
Georgina consults at Warringal Medical Centre across a broad range of areas in gastroenterology including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, disorders of the liver, coeliac disease, reflux disorders and functional bowel disorders.
She performs endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) at Warringal Private Hospital and John Fawkner Private Hospital.
